In our last post, we discussed the Top 5 EV charging company in the USA. To we discuss the top 5 FAQs about EV charging.
Electric cars or EVs are growing rapidly. People are giving priority to EVs. There might be chances that you are experiencing driving or owning a car for the first time.
People may find it difficult to understand the new technology. We have laid down the commonly asked question about the new technology.
1- How to charge my electric car easily?
EV is different from traditional cars, so the charging is as well. Traditional fuel diesel or gas is available at selected points only. Electricity is part of our daily life & easily available, so it’s easy to charge our car as well as compared to gas or diesel.
Charging at home is the most used charging point for car owners.
Apart from this, office & workplace are the 2nd popular charging location.
The third way to charge the EV is through Public & commercial stations, where you can easily charge by paying or for free as well.
Gas stations, supermarkets & shopping malls are other ways where you can easily charge your EV for free or paid service.
2- What is the process to charge a vehicle?
The process of charging an EV is quite easy & simple. A minor difference in hardware & software due to the type of charge is expected.
All the Electric vehicles come with a Plug & charging cable as per the car or your location. Simply plug the cable into the 3-pin home outlet & you are done.
How does charging work in EV charging stations?
Below is the process that most of the charging stations follow;
- Pairing the identity at the charging stations is the first step. You can use a Mobile app, RFID tag, Card, Credit card, or any type of software as per the charging station.
- Once pairing is done, just plug the cable into the card.
- Wait till the charging completes.
- Once charged, end the process of charging as per the earlier connected type.
3-How much time does it take to charge an EV battery?
This is the most frequently asked question & most searched question on Google as well. Once you know the time you can plan everything accordingly.
It totally depends upon the car, charging station, battery size & speed of the network.
It goes the same as it goes with the size of the fuel tank, if the battery size is larger, the longer the charge time.
The current battery state of charge is another major factor that decided the time for battery charging. If ur EV’s battery is exhausted, more time is expected for the charging.
What are the EV charger types?
As per the EV’s charging capacity charger has 3 types of charging stations.
The first one is Level 1 chargers, it’s the slowest. Thier capacity is to deliver 2.3 Kwh or approx 5-8 Km range/hour.
Level 2 type charges have high speed as these stations are installed by a professional team. Most of the charging types are installed in Commercial complexes & residential areas. Level 2 charges can deliver up to 11kWh or around 40 Km to 120 Km/hour as per the company.
DC chargers are called the Level 3 charger as well. These are the most used professional charging stations located in Offices, malls & Paid parking areas. They can deliver up to 150 KwH or up to 150 Km/hour.
